After looking back on my coursework from last year i have noticed the following points:
- some of my text has outlines that i now wouldnt have used as i have noticed that real magazines dont tend to use them, they use just one colour in the text.
- I would use less text and have it around the shape of my model rather than overlapping her.
- I havent included any icons, for example facebook, twitter and music labels, i would include these now as i think it gives it a more realisitic, professional look.
- The image i have used isnt very bold or eyecatching, if i was to redo this i would include a brighter colour in the clothing to match the colouring of the text and background of the magazine. I would also edit her less exposed by light so that her skin has more of a radient glow.
- I think that the text on my front cover is much too big in places and i could have varied the sizes to make it more visually pleasing.
- On my double page spread i would change the font of the title so that it is less straight and boring, i would like it to be more eye catching. Also i would have included more text during the interview as it looks too short and uninteresting.
- If i was to reshoot my model i would position the lighting so that she didnt have a shadow behind her or if this didnt work i would use photoshop to edit the shadow out.
- On my double page spread i have used too many images, it looks as if i have used images to hide the fact there is less text even though this wasnt my intention.
- I really dislike how i have positioned my imagery and the outline of my text on my contents page, the images arent positioned to fit in well with the text, they look as if they dont suit the rest of the page, the text looks almost as if has a glow which makes it hard to read.
