This was the start of my contents page, i began by adding my background image, i chose this because i think it links to the genre as it is fun, fashionable and is a well focused photograph so looks clear on the page. I chose to have it in monotone so that i could have the text on the page in colours such as gold, red and black and it wont clash.

I have changed my contents page to this because i wanted to add another artist to my magazine so i have created 'Caggie'. I chose to put half her face on the right side of the page as i think it look quirky and unique and will suit my target auidence. I think this works well as i have edited this image so that saturation is low so the colours arent too bright and wont clash with my text.

I originally took this photo to go on my contents page as my second artist but decided not to use it as i dont think it suits my target audience and also the colours don't work well with the colour palette im using for the rest of my magazine. I tried this image in monotone but i didnt think it looked well or put across the message i want it to.

This is the start of my double page spread, i have only added images at the moment and also the block of colour at the top. I think this is really sucessful as i like the way in the bottom image the model body fits around the side of the page in an interesting position. Also i like that the bottom image is more serious and mature but the top images give off the impression that the model can be childish and act her act of a sixteen year old so it would relate with my target audience who is the same age.
This is my front cover for my magazine (unfinished) it has some of the text and the background image on it, i also need to add more text, the price, the date, website and extra bits. But at the moment i am happy with the begining of what it looks like as i think the colours work well toether and on top of the cover photo. Also i have changed the outline and colour of the text so that different peices of text on the page stand out against eachother to make it clear to the viewer that they are seperate. I have put the name of the magazine in the top left hand corner so that it stands out and is the one of the first things you look at. I have also put a circle which looks like a sticker on the top right hand corner that promotes the poster that comes inside the magazine to attract my target audience more.

I have chosen this as the image on my double page spread, i wanted this body pose so that i could have the image on the bottom right hand side of the second page, it could fit nicely on the corner of the page leaving enough room for the text on the page. I dressed her in clothing and shoes from shops such as topshop and urbanoutfitters as they are popular shops in my target audience.

I have chosen these images to go at the top of my double page spread to express 'Callie Rose's' personality, i think this works well with the other picture at the bottom of the page as the fact these are black and white and the other one is colour makes them contrast against eachother bringing out the detail in the black and white photos and the colour in the coloured one. I like that this brings out a childish teenage mood to the magazine so the viewer can relate to the singer, and it also relates to the story on Callie Rose which is about her 'Wild nights out'.

This is my mock up of what my double page spread will be like, i will use this as a guideline.

This is my mock up of my front cover for my music magazine, i will use this as a guide line of what to put where when designing my final magazine cover.

These are some of the photos i had to choose my final front cover picture from, i like these as they relate to my magazine's audience in the way that they are of a 16 year old girl wearing clothing from local well known shops such as topshop. I decided not to use these as i think the first and last one arent happy enough and give off more of a negative attitude which wouldnt set a good example to my auidence. I decided not to use the middle photo as i think her facial expression is too forced and her body looks quite awkwardly positioned.

I have chosen this photo out of my photoshoot for my front cover image because i think it is a well focused photograph so looks proffessional and up to the stanards of a magazine cover, also she is smiling but not too much so that it looks happy but not too childlike. I tried to keep the colours basic in the background and her clothing because i wanted to make my text on my front cover bright and stand out against it so using bright colours on her could clash with the text colour. I chose a female because i wanted my main target audience which is mainly female to be able to relate to her. I dressed her in a topshop leotard and an urban outfitters necklace so that girls could look at this magazine and if they have seen it before reconise that she shops in the same places as them, or it could give them ideas of sensible but fashionable ways to dress. I used a back drop and studio lighting in the studio to make this photo proffessional looking and the lighting gives a sort of airbrushing effect which makes her skin look clear and smooth.
